Searching for the right person for the job

I interviewed a number of applicants for a job opening in our department. And I was surprised with the number of quality applicants that turned out. How I wish I could have them all but we will be choosing only one. I am going to shortlist three or four candidates for final interview with my boss by next week. I was enjoying the interviews, some are talented fresh graduates, and some are young professionals, who have, more or less, established themselves in their respective communication careers (news, broadcast, PR, marketing, etc.).
I have an eye for one particular candidate. I feel this person will go places… clean copy, good conversational and public speaking skills, good grades in school, and the x-factor to make it good in PR. There’s this other one who will also do well because of his cool attitude. He has high EQ but he didn’t do well with the exams, but ironically he writes so well. Judging him, experience and perseverance I think taught him to produce clean copies because he has been around for quite awhile. This particular applicant seems to be willing to learn and experience new stuff. I can relate to this guy.
I have four more applicants to interview in the next few days. And I am so enjoying the recruitment process. I know my boss will have a hard time choosing. I pray that all of them, whether hired or not, will do well with their careers.
